Program Registration

Generation Health Community is a FREE program for families with children ages 8-12 years old offered in communities across B.C. The program supports participants to make family changes to health behaviours such as: Healthy Eating, Physical Activity, Wellness, Screen Time, and Sleep. It is for families to complete together, at least one parent or caregiver must attend the sessions with the child (it does not need to be the same parent or caregiver each week).

The program is offered both Virtually via Zoom for families across British Columbia, and In-Person in many communities. If your child is not within the age range or the program schedule does not work for your family, there is a self-directed online option available below.

The main portion of the virtual session is time where families learn and play together, and then during the last ~30 minutes of the session it is a parent/caregiver only time with the Group Facilitator to cover more in-depth topics and have group discussions.

In-Person Programs

The main portion of the in-person session is time where families learn and play together, then for a smaller portion of the session the Physical Activity Facilitator and Group Assistant take the children to the gym for some physical activity time and the parents/caregivers remain in the classroom with the Group Facilitator to cover more in-depth topics. If your child requires 1:1 support, we require a second caregiver to attend and accompany the child to the gym.

Generation Health delivers programs to families across British Columbia, on the territories of many distinct First Nations. We are grateful to all the First Nations who have cared for and nurtured the lands and waters around us for all time. We acknowledge the rights, interests, priorities, and concerns of all Indigenous Peoples - First Nations, Métis, and Inuit - respecting and acknowledging their distinct cultures, histories, rights, laws, and governments.
